Creating Our Own Custom Miniatures With 3D Printing

One of the most exciting things we offer is the ability to create our own custom miniatures using 3D printing. It gives us the freedom to make models that are unique, personal and tailored to exactly what our customers are looking for.

We start by choosing or creating a suitable 3D model and preparing it for printing. Before printing, we check the model carefully and make sure it is suitable for miniature scale, with enough detail to produce a clean result.

Once the model is ready, we print it using a high-resolution resin printer. Resin printing is especially useful for miniatures because it can capture very small details such as faces, armour, weapons and textures.

After printing, the model needs to be cleaned and cured before it is ready for painting. We then remove any supports, tidy up the surface and prepare the miniature just like a traditionally produced model.

The biggest advantage of 3D printing is the customisation. We can create different poses, characters, accessories and unique designs that might not be available as standard miniatures. This makes it possible to create something that is truly personal to the customer.

There are also challenges. Getting a clean print requires careful preparation, and sometimes a model needs to be adjusted and printed again if small details or supports don’t work as expected. However, that is part of what makes the process so rewarding.

From a digital idea to a physical miniature ready for the tabletop, 3D printing gives us a whole new way to create and paint models for our customers.
