For this customer commission, I painted a Soulblight Gravelords<\/strong> army from Warhammer Age of Sigmar<\/em>. The goal was to create a dark and atmospheric miniature while still making sure the details were easy to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I started by preparing and priming the models before applying the main base colours. From there, I added darker shades into the recesses and gradually built up highlights on the raised areas. This helped give the miniature more depth and definition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of my favourite parts of painting these models was working with the undead aesthetic. The combination of bone, dark clothing, armour and smaller details gives Soulblight models a really strong gothic character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The biggest challenge was working with the darker colour palette. It can be easy for the different parts of the model to blend together, so I used different tones and highlights to separate the materials while keeping the overall dark appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I really enjoyed this commission because it gave me the opportunity to work with a style that is both grim and detailed.
